From the archive. This post is from a past Ecommerce Scotland. The next event is TBC May 2027 at the IMAX, Glasgow Science Centre.

On Thursday 12 March 2026, Scotland’s ecommerce community filled the IMAX at Glasgow Science Centre for a day of talks, live panels and plenty of conversation in between. Here’s our look back at it all: the day in numbers, a quick tour of the four sessions, a thank-you to our sponsors and a gallery of photos from the day.

The day in numbers

  • 1 day: Thursday 12 March 2026, at the IMAX, Glasgow Science Centre
  • 330+ attendees
  • 29 speakers and panellists
  • 4 sessions
  • 14 talks and panels, plus a welcome and four short Spin to Win slots
  • 7 sponsors
  • 6+ hours of content
  • Run by INDEZ

The four sessions

Productivity & Skills

After the welcome, the morning went straight into AI. Dr. Peter Mowforth and Dr. John McSloy asked whether agentic commerce means the end of traditional online retail, and the session closed with a panel on Reshaping Ecommerce: AI, Automation & People, with Claire Logan of ARRAN, Mark Wong of Tiso and Brian Fraser of MAC Recruit Group.

Profit Optimisation, Retention & SEO

After the morning break, Laura Blair and Dr. John McSloy shared The Profitability Playbook: 10 Ways to Escape the Race to the Bottom. Daniela Welsh (The Paint Shed), Emma Wilson (schuh) and Gemma Connolly (Kiltane) then talked about Supercharging Owned Channels & Advanced Retention Strategies, and Charlie Marchant of Exposure Ninja finished the session with How To Dominate AI Search in 2026.

Next Gen Brand Advertising

After lunch, Kieran Healey-Ryder (Whyte & Mackay), Laura MacDonald (Weber Shandwick), Alan McGarrie (Smiddy Marketing) and Ann-Maree Morrison MBE (Ecommerce Club) looked at The Art of the Brand: The Importance of Brand Identity in the Age of AI. Aditya Mahapatra of Augmentum Media closed the session with How to Build an Influencer Engine.

Modern Customer Journeys

The last session began with Carina McLeod of Ecommerce Nurse on From Discovery to Conversion: Connecting TikTok & Amazon for Growth. It ended with a panel on The Future of Selling: Evolution or Extinction?, with Alan Gormley (Shopbox AI), Zishan Ashraf (Shopify) and Dr. John McSloy.

Between sessions there was time to talk: long breaks for networking, sponsor stands in the atrium and a buffet lunch with access to the Glasgow Science Centre’s 300+ exhibits. Once the last panel finished, the day carried on at the afterparty in the Radisson RED Sky Bar, a short walk from the IMAX.

You can see every talk and panel on the 2026 agenda, and everyone who took part on the 2026 speakers page.

Thank you to our sponsors
